Steel and Smiles

Posted on | August 29, 2012 | 16 Comments |

After busting my back a few months ago and wearing my pale pink corset practically daily for weeks, I discovered that plastic boning really isn’t strong enough to hold my voluptuous curves in check – I’m sure that’s a surprise, right? So I embarked on a search to find, fit and purchase myself a proper steel-boned corset for myself.

I found an utterly gorgeous one, in an Edwardian Stripe style – but by the time I’d done so, I was so sick of having to wear a corset that I took the opportunity my healing back offered (and the strongly worded advice of the osteopath to not, so my back would not rely on one for support), and tucked it away until the right occasion. Which was a play party!

As you can see, it’s very … corsety. And definitely holds the curves (and makes others spill abundantly!).

And there’s room for a bit more tightening, too :)

It was well admired – and is definitely a great buy!

It was purchased from the Corseterie, tightened by Kiana, and photographed by Adonis.

It is certainly a beautiful thing and the top is so sensual. You look gorgeous.
So funny that you discussed corsets with your osteopath. Mine would have been horrified!

It is a beautiful corset. Looks great on you.
I didn’t even know they came with steel boning though.

    Oh Dee,

You look simply stunning. It is a dream of mine to own a steel boned corset. You help to make that a little more urgent for me.

There’s no way we can pick a favorite shot this week. You look utterly gorgeous in the first, but your pose in the second is beyond enticing. Beautiful corset! We’re certain that you were the highlight of the party!

Naughty Tashamber – Thank you for the compliment!

CuriousMuse – It was one of the very first things we discussed, actually, and he recommended I wear one for the first few weeks to help me support my back when I went out. Then we weaned me off and strengthened my back with exercises :)

Kazi – You and me both!

Maya – Thank you – I am very pleased with how I look wearing the corset :)

Rebel – It was Kiana’s idea to tie the ribbon around my neck, and it really compliments the rest of the outfit!

    Penny – *beams*

Inferno – If I remember my history correctly, the original corsets had whale boning. These days corsets either have plastic boning (which makes light corsets, easily bendable – not quite as good if you’re curvy!) and steel boned, which stay put.

Molly – The Corseterie definitely helped me to choose the right one, I agree!

Pea – I look forward to seeing you in one soon, then :)

    Mia – Thank you, sweetie!

Simone – You are just lovely :)

Jack and Jill – Was I the highlight? I have no idea. I definitely had a lovely time, though. Thank you so much for, as always, your absolutely lovely compliments!

Carol Anne – Thank you hon. *smiles*

Kiwiana – Thank you darling! I shall have to wear it for you some day, without anything covering my breasts …

    xx Dee
