On the Up

Posted on | August 26, 2012 | 15 Comments |

Hylas, Kiana and I began our Saturday by visiting the Auckland Craft Fair – which was crowded, and full of crafty things, and exhausting! When we’d had enough, we retreated to the food court at the base of the Metro building/Imax/movie theatres on Queen Streets to eat with Spinneretta … and looking upwards, I had an idea.

It was an idea which started us on an epic Scavenger Hunt and only ended hours later, with seven locations ticked off, and finished with the fantastic giant pipes.  But it started with the escalators.

Because the Metro building houses the Imax cinema and many others, there are many levels and lots of escalators. So up and up and up we went.

We’ve just barely left the food court (you can still see it to the left of the pic) - but I was just too impatient to wait!

This is up past the ticketing area, and on the way to the cinemas themselves. I didn’t realise there was anyone behind me. I wonder if they spotted anything?

Fast food flashing next Sunday,  I think :)

It almost looks as if the person in the last pic is looking up at what you are doing. Brilliant!

Brilliant…. I want to do this one. I am finding that I really love the pushing it a bit and riding the ‘nearly caught’ wave!

These are great! Looking lovely as always. I love how the lighting in the first pic accentuates the blue lights. It gives the photo a sci-fi feel :) It does look like the person in the second photo is looking up! You’re so brave.

As usual, lovely Scavenger Hunt pictures! So exciting knowing that there are people at the bottom of the escalator. Bet they enjoyed the double feature. ;)

this girl – The boobs are just up there!

Mia – Yes, I had no idea until I saw the photos :)

Rebel – I have no idea if they could see anything or not. I kinda really hope they could …

    Kira – Fingers crossed!

    Larry – *kisses*

Molly – It was an absolute blast :)

Tonya – You and me both, honey!

Penny – It was a good day to come to the Food Court, you betcha :)

Kazi – Or a very friendly escalator rider…

solitudinarian – The blue lights on the escalator sides really aren’t so obvious in person, but they came up very bright in the pics, so I accentuated them. Loved the look.

Jill – Wonderful play on words there!

    FreakyV – Thank you!

Carol Anne – Thanks, hon :)

Naughty Tashamber – Well, they had something interesting to look at, didn’t they?

    xx Dee
