Lacking in Steampunk

I adore parasols – as anyone who reads this blog, or has visited my house, or seen me out and about, knows! And since damaging my back recently, my corset has been getting a lot of wear. So when my niece – who’s also developed quite an appreciation for parasols as well – stayed over this weekend, I asked her to take a few photos of me combining the two. We picked out which parasols went best with my corset, and off we went into the back yard.
She did a spectacular job!
(You’ll be pleased to know that my back is improving. But corset-wearing is still very helpful when it comes to sitting, working, and driving.)
I may not be steampunky in the slightest. But I do rock the combination, don’t you think?
click-throughs on everything…
I also have a great new hair-colour, as you can see. I’ve kept my much loved (by me) ‘curvaceous red’ but now also have stripes of black running through it. I am quite pleased with it, although overall it’s considerably darker than I realised it was going to be. I miss my reddy-redness – but it’ll be back
You’ve seen this corset before, when Medea and I played in the jungle together.
What goes better with a pink corset, than a pink parasol? It’s not very practical, this one – but it’s so darned frilly and pretty and froufrou! *cough*
This parasol, on the other hand, hasn’t been seen here on the blog before. (Only clicking will allow you to see the full glory of the parasol, and me with a total derp face.) It’s been shown in one of my Express articles, though… I found it in a fantastic vintage shop in Foxton, of all places, during a roadtrip to Wellington last year with Hylas and Kiana. You never know what’s going to turn up, do you?
**
There are more fantastic photos, and two more parasols, from today – but they’ll be up next week. Patience!

A very lovely grim under the shadowing of your divine looking parasols. The pink parasol is my favorite picture =)

Oh, you rock all right. You definitely rock! The hair looks great, and your eyes, as always, captivate us both. Your stare in the first shot is as compelling as your smile in the first click-through is radiant and attractive. We love your posture in the second shot, and the way your hair hangs over your eyes in the second click-through. And the third click-through! Well, let’s just say that you wear that corset extremely well.
