Rainbows and kitties and photographs

I have a blast every year at the Big Gay Out. This year I went with Hylas and Ailuros, meeting up with Demeter (and my niece) whilst we were there. As always, I had a parasol to keep the sun from burning me. Rainbow seemed entirely appropriate, yes?
Hylas decided not to dress up this year – but Ailuros was an extremely eye-catching kitty! Many, many people asked to have their picture taken with him, and Hylas was an obliging photographer. Click-throughs on the pics this week will show you why …
The amazing lion was part of the First Scene stand – we all wanted pictures with the lion, and they all wanted pictures with the kitty! So we took turns
This taniwha, on the other hand, is part of the Coyle Park playground – and definitely needed to be sat upon!
And sometimes you just have to get a photographs with the sign that says where you are …
Eventually, after checking out all the stalls, bumping into folks we knew, and having a bite to eat, we’d had enough. Despite the occasional drop of drizzle (waxed parasols are good for keeping rain off, too), it was hot and muggy, and we’d seen all we wanted to see. So it was time to hop back on the bus and head on home.
It was a big day – a big gay day – out. And it was fantastic!
**
Parasols are becoming more popular every year at the BGO – great to see so many people using them!

This looks like a very cool day and I love that parasol… more pictures of that one so we can see it properly would be lovely.

Love the parasol, but it’s not quite as lovely as the person holding it.

Kazi – The BGO happens every year, and I’ve attended for the last six or seven. The most memorable was pushing my brother around in his wheelchair. That ground was not the easiest for it. But I’ve been with friends, lovers, family. I’ve been in rain and in sunshine. The only constant is that I’ve always been with a parasol!
Molly More pictures of the rainbow parasol. Check! Will do
Penny – Had a blast, as always!
Jack and Jill – *blushes*
Pixel – So for my next photoshoot, should I eat a strawberry lasciviously? Browncoats forever!
Rebel – The kitty is very likeable
Cath – *rowr!*
