Hot sausage

Summer in New Zealand means, inevitably, barbeque season. And as a long-time vegequarian it means once again doing the dance of bringing-my-own-sausages to the party.
To be fair, while there’s always standard sausages available, for most parties people bring their own meat – be they marinated steaks, fancy sausages, vegie kebabs, hot chicken wings (Hylas’ preference), or something else entirely. For me, my preference is vegetarian sausages – there are a great variety of brands and flavours available now, and I no longer have to warn the person tending the bbq that there’s plastic to be removed from each individual sausage (which was something people often learned the hard way back in the early days …). And they are delicious, especially with HP Sauce!
Summer barbeques means the chance to catch up with different friends. And when it’s a kinky barbeque? Then I get to wear something scandalously short, and be very much myself:
SapioSlut did a bang-up job running the barbeque whilst wearing considerably less than I was (protected in an apron, of course), while SapioSir entertained the rest of us and kept us in drinks. And we swapped stories and shared tales and talked books and chattered away and generally had a lovely time.
Everything kinky friends do on a lovely sunny summer’s day…

Yes, it’s summer in New Zealand. I live in the Southern Hemisphere, folks!

Being that it’s dark cold winter here, your barbecue fun looks especially good (not that it wouldn’t if we shared climes!)

Sounds like the perfect summer’s get-together… and you look so very happy and relaxed and there it is again, they mischievous look in your eye.

An old friend of mine was vegetarian long ago for awhile and our favorite fake meat product was something called “Not So Sausage”. Just the name made us giggle.

We love hosting a barbecue! The only way ours could be tastier is if you were in attendance! Beautiful shots.

That sounds like a total blast! Glad you had a good time!

Nice chillin shots.
I can’t wait until it is barbecue weather here. As it is I am still in the world of cold, rain, ice, and the possibility of snow.
ENVY.
Can’t do the vegetarian sausages thing. My firts wife (I have been married twice) was an animal activist type life long vegetarian which pretty much made me a half time vegetarian, but the I never could do the fake meet stuff. Texture didn’t fit well with me.

Glad that you and Sapios Slut and Sir are having good weather up there. 124 kph winds in Kelburn yesterday, so barbecues delayed until the weekend (though I suspect there’ll be less interesting displays).
We previously had problems retraining friends who were used to peeling vege sausages when we switched brands and found that they were trying to peel all of the casings away, leaving barbecued skewers
. Fortunately, we’re omnivores again – and the higher weight:height ratio helps me to resist the wind whistling past your Wellington hotel.

Kazi – Come to NZ! We’ll have a BBQ just for you
Molly – Me? Mischevious? Never!
Lilly – Now there’s a sausage I’d eat. *grin*
Jack and Jill – I will keep buying my Lotto tickets …
Slut – I get peopled out very easily, but a small entertainment with kinky friends is always good. Especially when they understand energy levels and are always good with offering time-out space if needed.
Inferno – The vege sausages around when I first stopped eating meat were pretty bad. And some of them still are. There are some delicious (and well-textured) ones available now, though. Much nicer!
jnakabb – This barbie was last month, but it could easily have been last weekend (the weather was glorious!).

Penny – You can wear less clothes in winter, hon! You just need to be indoors and around a heater to do so
