Sometimes I just have to take my clothes off. Well, I want to take my clothes off. And be photographed. And be exhibitionistic to boot. So after getting naked in a porn shop recently, Hylas and I thought it might be fun to do the same thing outdoors.
And where better than very near a whole lot of motorists – who have no idea what’s going on underneath the road?
This particular tunnel is between the Stafford Road and Onewa Road exits on the Northern Motorway, just past the Harbour Bridge. From Sulfur Beach Road you can walk down a footpath near the motorway edge (who knew?), and it brings you to the tunnel. We were just out of sight of this traffic cam, but you can see the path on the left of the screen.
Once upon a time the tunnel was used for toll-booth operators to get to their booths, or so I have been told. These days, it’s a way of walking beneath the motorway, and a great place for a little privacy …
Getting undressed is always fun … running up and down the ramp just out of view? Even better (click to see).
There was a locked gate preventing egress up the stairs and along the motorway verge. But that was fine with me. There were so many different ways (click) to hold on – and play!
Apparently the tunnel was also a place for budding graffiti artists to get some uninterrupted practice. Fine by me – I found these ones quite sweet, so made sure I posed by them (click) for a few photographs!
Another place on the Scavenger Hunt list can be ticked off. What’s next?
