Count Vampula

This is Count Vampula. He was a Giftmas present a few years ago, from friends who know of our geeky predilections (Apollo was given a Zombie Bear).
(Why, some of you may be wondering, is this week’s HNT about Count Vampula? Well, like all posts this week, it’s in honour of my Vampire Competition – have you entered yet?)
Count Vampula likes to bite. He’s a vampire, and they tend to do that. And like all vampires, there are particular areas on the body that really appeal to him – if he bite those spots, he hits the big veins, where the blood is a-pumping.
The jugular is a popular one. There are advantages to the Count going for my neck – he’s small and cuddly, so I get a plushy-hug fix even as he’s sucking down my haemoglobin. Plus, cute!
And then there’s the equally popular (but not quite as often seen on prime-time) saphenous vein running through the leg, and connecting to the femoral artery. That’s very sexy, being so close to the genital area, and also guaranteed to make me weak at the knees.
So this is the Count. He’s lived with us for a few years now. A regular-sized vampire would likely have drained me and moved on, but he’s small enough that I am a renewable blood-source. Lucky Count Vampula.
And lucky me.
