Drying off

It’s another every-day task. After I shower (because it’s just redundant doing it beforehand!), it’s time to dry myself off. Most days I do it myself, although on the weekends Apollo often assists, but doing it solo can be erotic – rubbing the fluffy fabric across my skin, and feeling the texture as I ensure my folds and curves are nice and dry.

My hair is bunned up so that it stays dry in the shower – I only wash my hair (and shave my legs) every three days. Having it up makes it easier to towel my back as well.

Soapy

It’s one of those things that occurs every day. And as such, it can become a bore (or a chore) – or it can be an opportunity for amusement and fun.

What am I talking about? Showering, if course! Getting clean. Soaping up and scrubbing down.

Some people like to shower in the morning; others at night. Me, I’m a morning showerer. The strong pressure of water beating against my breast, my belly, my thighs, my back – it all helps to wake me up and energise me for the day.

Tim Minchin!

I have a huge crush on Tim Minchin. For those of you who are going ‘who the hell is that?’, allow me to enlighten you: Tim Minchin is a comedian musician Australian Londonian with bizarre hair, a penchant for eyeliner, and a whole fuckload of talent. And I have a massive crush on him.

It all began when I watched a youtube video a few years back. It continued as I found more youtubes of various songs. But it really kicked into high gear the middle of last year, when I stumbled across a copy of his DVD ‘So Live‘. Apollo and I watched it together … and proceeded apace to introduce it to each poor sod friend who crossed our threshold. We made more converts.

I forgot

I forgot so many things.

I forgot that to most people the word ‘cunt‘ is an insult, derogatory, and shocking. That they don’t hear it as a marvellous beautiful descriptor of female genitalia, or realise that I speak the word with love and reverence and respect.

I forgot that to most people ’sex’ is between a male and a female, and described solely as the penetration of the penis into the vagina. That they have no idea sex can be amazing without penetration being part of the picture, or that indeed masturbation is solo sex and in no way secondary to that with a partner.

I’m a crafty kinkster

You can buy sex toys, or you can pervert ordinary items into sex toys … or you can make your own sex toys (getting hands on, y’know?). This book, the eponymous Make Your Own Sex Toys, contains ’50 quick and easy do-it-yourself projects’. In other words: the details on how to make a whole bunch of sexy and kinky items yourself.

There are five main sections in the book: The Basics, For Him, For Her, For Couples, Storage and Organisers. Note the gender binary, as well as the presumption of duo-relationships. It may have been a simple way to organise the book, but did feel rather limiting. There was also some kink included in the book, but it was mixed in with more vanilla toys, which was a shame.

Sunny afternoon

It’s a marvellous summer day. There’s a light breeze taking the edge off the heat, so rather than swelter inside, I decide instead to take my book and my parasol and head out to the backyard.

It’s reasonably private. Tall fences rise on either side of the property as well as behind the vegetable garden, and bright leafy trees rise overhead. I skin out of my shorts and singlet and knickers and lie, naked, on a patch of grass.
